At Hatchlands Primary School, we recognise that at different times some children may require additional support, either to address a learning difficulty or to ensure that the curriculum appropriately challenges and extends their abilities.

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENCo) oversees SEND provision across the school, working closely with class teachers, support staff and external professionals where appropriate. Together, they ensure that pupils receive high-quality, targeted support that enables them to make progress and achieve their potential.

We believe that every child at Hatchlands Primary School is entitled to a broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum. We strive to provide a caring and nurturing learning environment, rich in stimulation, which supports pupils’ academic, emotional and physical development so that all children can flourish.

Class teachers work closely with parents and carers to share updates, discuss progress and review support strategies, supported by the SENCo as needed. Parents are always welcome to contact the school or arrange an appointment if they have concerns, questions or would like advice.
