At Hatchlands, it is our intention to provide all our children with a high-quality history education that will help pupils gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and that of the wider world. We aspire for our pupils to be curious learners and have a thirst for knowledge about events beyond and within living memory. We intend for our pupils to develop the skills required to explore their own interests; asking questions, thinking critically, weighing evidence, and developing their own judgments. We want our pupils to understand how people’s lives and societies have changed over time, and how this has had an impact on their own identities.
