At Hatchlands, our curriculum is implemented through carefully chosen, high-quality schemes of learning including Kapow, Maths Mastery and Read, Write, Inc which provide clear progression, consistency and full coverage of the National Curriculum.

Teachers use these schemes as a strong foundation, adapting and shaping lessons where appropriate to reflect the needs of our children and the context of our school.

Learning is thoughtfully planned to ensure it is inclusive, engaging and responsive, with appropriate support and challenge so that all pupils can succeed.

Across subjects, lessons are designed to build secure knowledge, develop key skills and introduce and revisit important vocabulary. Teaching includes opportunities for retrieval, discussion, practical learning and application, helping children to know more and remember more over time.

Our approach ensures that while the curriculum is underpinned by well-sequenced schemes, it remains bespoke to Hatchlands, reflecting our values, our community and the diverse needs of our learners.
