As part of our commitment to continually improving standards and outcomes for all children, we have implemented the Read, Write, Inc. (RWI) Spelling programme.
RWI Spelling is aimed for children from Year 2 up to Year 6, following on from RWI Phonics in Reception and Key Stage 1. It embeds the National Curriculum spelling skills within daily, targeted sessions. Each day, the children take part in daily, bite-sized lessons that build knowledge cumulatively. 3 friendly alien characters introduce the spelling rules within an interactive online spelling planet. There is lots of emphasis on partner and oral work t ensure children fully grasp the concepts throughout the programme.
Children are assessed every half term to ensure children are keeping up.
